Seebodenalp is one of the most beautiful panoramic terraces in the foothills of the Swiss Alps.

The first section of the Schwyzer mountain path contains numerous stops worth to experience. Make your first stop at the Gesslerburg and embark on the historic castle tour. Afterwards, you will pass by typical Küssnacht farms before expedited climbing up to Seebodenalp. From Seebodenalp you can enjoy a fantastic view of Pilatus and the pre-Alpine landscape. The route continues leisurely to Alp Holderen and then through the secluded Rigi forest and Baenderen until Rigi-Staffel.

For your information

You can find the current operating status of the railways and hiking trails here .

In order to let our next generation also be inspired from the Queen of the Mountains, may we ask you to dispose of your own waste at Rigi Stations. Thank you.

Author’s recommendation

I recommend a short breathtaking moment on the Seebodenalp. Enjoy the view of the lake basin of Kuessnacht and Mt. Pilatus.
