Arnialp Engelberg
From Engelberg railway station, the starting point of the Arnialp tour, head for the lower terminus of the TITLIS Xpress gondola cableway. Asphalted Gerschnistrasse on the left of the terminus leads to Untertrübsee (expect works traffic). Steadily rising, but protected from the sun by the forest, the road meanders up to the Untertrübsee alp, a first opportunity for refreshments (the restaurant is considered to serve the best meringues in the region).
After the restaurant, the forest thins out and offers views of the mountains. Continuing straight ahead, the road leads past the Wanghütte refuge. Once you have crossed the Arnibach, you have reached your destination. During your well-deserved breather, you can marvel at the mountainscape and Engelberg's local mountain, the Hahnen. You return to the valley the same way you came up.
